The overarching narrative of my life has been the straddling between two states of being.  Between the Philippines and the United States.  Between biological and adopted families.  Between my conservative upbringing and my sense of self worth. Oscillating back and forth while code switching to assimilate, my work is the anchor that keeps me grounded firmly in this ambiguous space.  Often exploring themes of rebellion, rejection, celebration, and shame, my work seeks to materialize forbidden thoughts and disgraced states of being so that the epic of resilience anoints the journey.
